Hey there,
before taking this step, you should think about if there is an audience who would like to purcase your work and pay you actual money for the product you are producing for them.
this you can find out by pools or if someone has asked you first if you are doing commissions.
after you know people are interested, you should do a catalogue about what you are going to draw and what “products”, like, for example, lineart, full CG, Fully painted picture with BG, Bust and so on.
You should make examplepictures of what for ex. linearts are going to look like so the people gonna know.
if you have a constant and persistant style, that is good.
think about what you can draw, what you cant and if you are going to do fanart commissions.
now i know Fanartcommissions are forbidden on some websites due the copyright laws and i dont do them too cause of this matter. Layers are just waiting for things like that to happen and its easy bait for them.
About Pricing…. Price goes mainly by your Quality of work, the hours you spend and your use of material costs.
Even if you are working digitaly, you are using electricity for that, so you might wanna consider that in your pricing too( not a huge amout but consider it). Like an traditional artist has to buy new paper, colours and brushes, its a cost which for the long term will show itself.
Also you are giving them the permission to use your picture for whatever they like, so consider some copyright costs too.
For ex:
Quality of skill is 50%
Hrs/p pic 40%
Materials 5%
Copyrighting costs 5%
Once you have your prices arranged, the billing is next.
I like to use paypal cause its international and safe. there is a tutorial on deviantart how you can avoid the paypalfee when sending money.
i’ve always used this preferably for my onlinepursases and i’ve never been disappointed, Paypal is also customerfriendly =).
The Handling however, everyone has a different method. But you shouldnt trust on anyone when it comes to money, friendships end there where moneybuisness start.
Also write how you are doing the handling on your catalogue.
I usually do it like, people see what i offer, send me their commissionoffer and we talk about details, preferably with refs of what they would like! They send half of the amount, after i’ve received that, i will make a rough sketch and show it to them, if they dont like it you can redo it. if the client approves, they send you the other half of the money and you finish the picture.
that way you cant be fooled into people who are saying they will still pay and so on.
of course it depends on the trust you want to put into it.
luckily i’ve never had problems cause the commissioners have been good people to me =)
It depends how much you trust them, but thats just the basic of handling it.
i’m sorry i cant tell you anything about shipping since i dont do that. Digital art is easy to ship per e-mail :) if people want it printed, i can offer it, but i rather not cause of the time it takes to send it and the costs of shipping.

jedenfalls, hab ich ihm die einfach mal so gegeben, ich dachte das kommt ganz gut. Den löwen vom refbild fand ich auch cool und hab ich mal so übernommen, der die stärke der beiden wiederspiegelt und die Taube war so zur Deko, weil der arm sonst blöd rumflattern würde. iaaaaaarrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Wie du weißt hatte ich massive probleme mit ivans gesicht, aber seit ich mich an stefano mascuilini orientiert hab, gefällt es mir jetzt sehr gut, ich mag auch wie die kleidung mittlerweile rüberkpmmt, am anfang war ich ja jetzt nicht so begeistert, aber ich find das ganze ist mir geflungen( auch wenn ich einige sachen vllt mehr ausarbeiten hätte können).
Ich mag auch den halbrealisten look von den gesichtern und der zarte lichtfall auf den hautoberflächen, ich hoffe das gefällt dir auch.
Während ich das Bild gemalt habe, komm ich ja auf allmögliche gedanken und da dachte ich auch, wie krass es ist, dass wir seit dem Kindergarten immernoch befreundet sind und dass auch noch richtig gut und die Interessen teilen(RDR und spiderman XD voll heiko ;) =) )
Wir haben ja schonmal drüber gesprochen, aber ich find das halt immerwieder total toll.
und wie ich dir gesagt habe, finde ich dass ich nach fast jedem telefonat irgendwas wieder beibehalten habe, was mich entweder zum denken anregt, ansichten ändert oder von dem ich was gelernt habe.
Du erinnerst mich immer an die eine von Stolz und vorurteil XD (von kira gespielt und die mr darsy bekommt), die ist auch so “smart”(als ich damals von ges jr. gehört hab, dass sie dich arrogant findet konnte ich das nciht verstehen und ich kann das bis heute immernoch nicht blicken wenn leute das über dich sagen(dochnal hatte das damals zb auch gesagt).
Ich finde es cool, das wir trotz unserer trennung bei der geburt uns wiedergefunden haben, der siamesenfleck kann nicht lügen, besonders wenn wir beide ja zudem noch stiere sind(das will was heißen!).XD
Was ich mit den ganzen komischen und schnulzigen passagen sagen will, ist, dass du eine tolle persönlichkeit und ein toller mensch bist und ich mich freue, dass wir befreundet sind.
